How the CIIC Tech Reuse Program Works

What Is the CIIC Tech Reuse Program?
The CIIC Tech Reuse Program accepts donated business-grade laptops from organizations and individuals that are upgrading or decommissioning equipment.
Devices are securely wiped, refurbished in-house, and returned to community use through donation, resale, or responsible recycling.
This program reduces electronic waste while expanding access to reliable technology with in the community.
π Your Data Comes First
CIIC understands that data security is the top concern when donating technology.
We treat all donated devices as sensitive assets and handle them in a controlled environment with restricted access.
Our processes are designed to protect donor privacy and reduce risk at every stage of the reuse and recycling process.
πΎ How Data Is Securely Handled
All storage devices received by CIIC are sanitized using industry-recognized data destruction methods aligned with NIST 800-88 guidelines.
Devices are wiped before any reuse, resale, or recycling.
Storage devices that cannot be securely wiped are removed and physically destroyed.
Upon request, donors may receive confirmation that data sanitization has been completed.
Where Donated Laptops Go
Refurbished laptops support individuals, families, and community programs that need access to reliable technology.
When devices are resold, proceeds directly support CIIC’s community initiatives and help sustain program operations.
Devices that cannot be reused are responsibly recycled through approved recycling programs.
