The Values That Guide the Canadian Islamic Information Centre

Treat every individual we serve — whether a visitor, seeker, or volunteer — with compassion and dignity. The Values That Guide the Canadian Islamic Information Centre.

At the Canadian Islamic Information Centre, our work is defined not just by what we do — but by how and why we do it. Our values form the ethical and spiritual framework behind every service we offer, every person we welcome, and every decision we make.

Grounded in the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, these values are not aspirational — they are actionable. They shape our character as a Centre, reflect our Islamic identity, and hold us accountable to a higher purpose.

A Value System Rooted in Islam

We believe that Islamic organizations must lead with integrity, mercy, and trust. These are not marketing words — they are the very traits that defined the Prophet ﷺ and those who came after him, with knowledge and sincerity.

At the Canadian Islamic Information Centre, our values are evident in how we:

  • Deliver spiritual services like Ruqyah with trust and confidentiality

  • Develop and teach programs with clarity, accuracy, and love of Islam

  • Treat every individual we serve — whether a visitor, seeker, or volunteer —
    with compassion and dignity.

  • Uphold honesty in our operations, communication, and accountability

These values are not optional — they are our Islamic obligation.

Sincerity (Ikhlāṣ – الإخلاص)

We serve with the intention to please Allah ﷻ alone. Every act, whether public or private, is rooted in sincerity and carried out with awareness of divine accountability.

“Say, ‘Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.’”
— Surah Al-Anʿām (6:162)

Trust (Amānah – الأمانة)

We see every responsibility — from counselling and Ruqyah to managing your information and donations — as a trust. Our promise is to fulfill each responsibility with transparency, professionalism, and integrity.

Compassion (Raḥmah – الرحمة)

We follow the model of the Prophet ﷺ, who was described as a “Mercy to the Worlds.” This principle defines how we speak, listen, guide, and serve — always with empathy, care, and patience.

Knowledge (‘Ilm – العلم)

We teach only what is authentic and beneficial. Our educational programs are grounded in traditional scholarship, adapted for today’s reality, and presented in a way that honors both the sacredness and relevance of Islamic knowledge.

Community (Ummah – الأمة)

The Canadian Islamic Information Centre is not just a service provider — it’s a part of the Ummah. We exist to uplift, unite, and support the Muslim community in Canada through meaningful connection, trust, and shared purpose.

A Living Commitment

These values aren’t just statements on our website — they live in:

  • The calm and trust-filled environment during a Ruqyah session

  • The respect shown to every inquiry or concern we receive

  • The integrity behind every fundraising campaign or volunteer effort

  • The smiles we share, the time we give, and the sincerity behind each word

They are our constant reminder: our work is ‘ibādah (worship), and our character is da‘wah (invitation to Islam).

Let’s Uphold These Values Together

Whether you’re reaching out for help, signing up to learn, or volunteering your time — you’re becoming part of a value-driven movement.

These values belong to the entire community, and their beauty only shines brighter when lived together.

“The believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.”
— Surah Al-Ḥujurāt (49:10)
